Restoring the Soul

In 2006, Michael Cusick launched Restoring the Soul, a counseling practice that brings hope and healing to men dealing with a range of trauma, but especially focused on sexual additions and recovery. I had the privilege of creating the first logo and website. Then, in 2015, Michael's practice had grown to the point that it required a rebrand and a new site. Additional sites were added to expand the practice and supplement a growing audience for the Restoring the Soul Podcast, Weekend Intensives, and the best selling book, Surfing for God.

The rebrand included a complete overhaul of the original Restoring the Soul site and upgrading the content to a new client focused message. A second revision using the Donald Miller StoryBrand framework simplified and amplified the message across all sites and delivered an immediate increase in traffic and sign-ups for intensives. This site has been used by Donald Miller at StoryBrand as a showcase model and example of client focused messaging done right.

Michael's practice is now booked several months out, and the Surfing For God weekend sells out each time while it draws high profile coaches and thought leaders from around the country to both participate and observe.

A new book is in the works. It will launch with a series of social media campaigns, a launch funnel, author site, and bonus content soon.

The Restoring the Soul family of websites has gone through several revisions, each emerging with a more simplified design and a more focused message. Short and very targeted copy blocks are laser focused on the ideal customer avatar and inviting them to respond.

66-Hours

In 2015, Restoring the Soul launched its powerful Restoring the Soul Weekend Intensives. Each weekend event sees men from all walks of life return home, having been radically transformed. The event lasts exactly 66 hours, from sign-in to final farewell, with each moment carefully crafted to tear down walls that block healing and open the door for hope in a matchlessly vulnerable and authentic community. The 66 Hours graphic was created to frame the time and set clear expectations for incoming participants.
