I started dissecting WordPress sites and rebuilding them from scratch using only a code editor in 2007. I wanted to find out how they worked and learn to build them without any of the drag and drop programs like Dreamweaver. The benefit was learning how sites actually fit together, why they do what they do and how to make them bend to my will.
I had been out of the print design world for about 15 years when I restarted my agency. Though I keep my subscription to Communication Arts active and paid the premium to have it shipped to Lima, Peru. I found the exposure to a totally different design language and sensibility was challenging and inspiring. Living in the nation of some of the greatest artisans and architects the world has ever known changed me forever.
I pulled together several logos below that I have worked on over the years. I will be building out case studies for some like The Climb, I created for the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. I love doing logos, but find that I’m doing them less and less. There are so many great resources available online, I prefer to focus on brand strategy.
